video & relfection
Reflection
After doing all of the criteria for our final project I realized that it has hard to make up lyrics then a beat to go with it and everything else for a video. But, for me it was a good learning experience because I got to work with applications I usually wouldn't use. Like jing, iMovie or Garage Band. Also I got to experience making up lyrics to a song, and showing deeper emotions.

Mountains
Nature is what surrounds you.
Standing there, so tall and powerful.
Seeing the beautiful green colors on you.
You make me feel brand new.
You become a new figure
When the rain clouds damper on you
Your new green luscious color
Makes you look so pure
People always climbing on top
When reaching the peak,
We feel so successful
Staring at the city me & you as one
Together we can take on every gusty wind
Cause your paths are rocky & full of leaves, twigs and birdies
But yet we all just walk over you
Cause you lead me to a happier state.
Looking at you makes me giggle
Peaceful adventurous looks you give off
Its just soo contagious
You always make me smile
Cause you lead me to a happier state of mind
So tall, so kind
Standing on top makes me feel so strong
Cause you & I belong.
Mountains Analysis
When you first read the lyrics of my song it describes any old mountain. But really it's a metaphor about my boyfriend because his name is Mountan.
He is apart of my life just how nature surrounds all of our lives and affects us in different ways; he does the same to me. Mountains stand in front of us, powerful and towering over everything but yet I am not afraid because I have my own Mountan that I have to climb with. We know each other's secrets and also how his favorite color is green. That’s just like the color a real mountain is they share more than just one similarity.
From the times that we have been together and apart I know that I have impacted and showed him a lot of different things, he always seem to become a better boyfriend. All that gets thrown at him, he becomes wiser and a good role model for people to look at. He just seems so perfect that no one can ever replace what, who and how much you mean to me. He shows signs of pureness and full of heart, always bringing new shades of greens to life.
People are constantly trying to tear us apart, but so far climbing this rocky mountain has led us to good and bad. All the different paths we could take, choosing different things, always disagreeing some how we are still managing to climb that mountain together. Still there are bunches of leaves that scatter throughout our path; people saying that you aren’t a good influence or that I treat you bad. We try to ignore what people say a let them blow away just like all leaves do. The little birdies that land on our trail, either like our little self conscious' that sit on our shoulders getting us out of our perplexed thoughts. Though sometimes these little birdies seem to be devious and gossipy who give off the wrong message. Once again they will fly away because the seasons have changed, with our seasons of love. And the colors of the mountain will become a richer green with all the rain clouds releasing new feelings.
At times it seems like we have already reached the top and know what love is. We can look down at everyone else, and together we can take on every gusty wind Mother Nature creates. I look at you with such great emotions, constantly wanting to climb higher and higher because you bring me to a happy state. That good warm feeling that makes me giggle twenty-four seven.
Your blue, skylight eyes look at me with such strong sentiments, I can tell you don’t want me to be leaving your side. Your eyes can say all the things you want it to say because I know all your looks and what they mean. Somehow even though I make you mad, or I know you're irritated you make me smile and I can do the same for you. The shade of green on the mountain has become brighter because of the fresh, healthy nutrients it needs. Like the key to a good relationship.
Non-stop smiling, butterflies always fluttering, eyes always sparkling together our passion is contagious. Standing on the mountain we just climbed gives us the courage to fulfill our desires, making me feel so strong. All that we've been through I now can honestly say that you and I belong.

The Circle of Love
Since the lighting of our burning candle
Our flame burns with twisted lies and distress
Always dwindling and sheer of scandals
Though never has this flame burnt out on us
The wick gets stronger through all our secrets
Lies and deceptions with ghost of our past
Never has it died 'cause of our warm hearts
Till that day the wax melts like little dust
Dripping down the side leaving waxed figures
Bruises of your hot wax, always remains
Staying inside us till it configures
Still we will make it through the burning pains
Circles are forever never ending
Run around the candle but be caring.
NEW SONNET

In my sonnet, "The Circle of Love" I wanted the readers to understand how being in a relationship has many things that are unsaid and is like a battlefield. Also how your significant other will always be there for you no matter what happens. Life is a circle, it goes around and takes a while to get used to just like love. Love hurts but also makes all of us warm and happy, just as a candle's flames hurts one when you touch it but the flame can keep you warm too.
Since the lighting of our candle, to now it has never burnt out on us. From the beginning of our relationship when you first asked me out was the first time we lit a bond together. From that moment we knew deep down inside of us we would always have something for one another and remain connected. The flame that burns with twisted lies and distress is always dwindling and is sheer of scandals. The flame signifies all that we have done the good and the bad while together. The flame from the start of our relationship never completely burnt out. That same old flame from then is still very strong and could hurt one of us really bad. It is like our hearts because we hide things from one another cause we think it's for the better but what do we know, love is powerful and we don’t want to break it. The flame could burn out or the wind could tatter around like people do questioning with me and you; whatever is inside of us could now be leaked out and our relationship would be over. But never let that flame break you apart because people will try, but the wick will still be burning.
The wick that gets stronger through all of our secrets, the lies and deceptions with the ghost of our pasts. As time passes by, you won't always tell each other everything but the wick is like God who knows everything. The lies we once said, deceiving one another, and all of our wrong doings that once took place while together the wick knows it all, it’s a symbol of trust and hope. The trust that lies between us will be strong but hope that it won't break our promise if we say something that happened in our past. The ghosts of our past always' creep upon us and will haunt until we tell the truth, and that is the knowledge the tiny little material plastered in wax holds. But from all it holds it never died because of our warm hearts but until that day the wax melts like little dust. All that we go through and conceal from each other our relationship didn’t split apart because our love for each other is too strong. Until the day when we once go our separate ways or your ghost from the past unveils all of the times of wrong doings and secrets will slowly fade away, but could always eat you in the butt.
Dripping down the side leaving waxed figures, bruises of your hot wax will always remain. Staying within me until our relationship heals, both of us will make it through all the burning pains. We have our happy and sad moments together and from those sad times you leave light marks on my heart. The bruises from you damaging my heart will be their forever as the scars you left me. But as time passes on my heart will slowly mend back together and my heart will be not damaged no more. Because through our burning times together the aches and pains there was always something that would make us work and be happy. If not we would find a way to patch up our wounds from the battlefield, with or without a first aid kit.
We have been through the ruts and fun times and our hearts will always want one another. The candle is a circular shape where circles go around and 'round which are never ending. That represents the love between you and I will have its hard times but through it all we will be happy and end up together. So when you have your own time to burn the candle with someone make sure that its what you want, and expect the hard times and falls, that's what's love is about. Now go ahead and take your turn to circle that candle of love. All that you need is your partner and you, remember always be caring.

The Valentines Day Mystery
The Valentines Day Mystery
Every weekday morning Hazel Weatherfield had the same routine; wake up, get washed, put on her uniform, eat breakfast, and then catch the bus to school. But this February 14th was particularly a special day. Hazel awoke on this nippy Tuesday morning to the smell of fresh baked brownies shaped as a heart on her nightstand. She didn’t know why she received them, so she thought of all the people that it could be from.
"Orphanage mommy, no. Orphanage dad, no no no. Carrie, orphan sister, maybe. Josh, another orphan, possible." But Hazel thought, "Who else would give me something on Valentines?" So, she went downstairs but didn’t ask any of her orphan mates anything about who dropped the brownies off or where it came from. Although she was still puzzled she sat at the table and ate her breakfast. When all of the orphans were done eating they walked outside to catch the school bus.
As Hazel, Carrie, and Josh were waiting outside bundled up, something out of the corner of Hazel's eye caught her attention. It was a white teddy bear dressed in winter attire sitting on their mother's rocking chair with a paper flapping. Hazel then walked to pick it up and read the paper attached to the bears heart. The card read,
" Dear Hazel,
Happy Valentines Day! I know you are trying to figure out who I am. But I'm not going to tell you until you figure it out yourself. So, I set you up a little scavenger hunt, which will lead you to me. Have fun!
Your first gift was brownies in the shape of a heart. Now, this bear is yours to keep because you were separated from yours. Your next clue will be at school.
Love, L."
"Love, L" Hazel was bewildered by that. She didn’t know anyone who was named L. But being the detective she was, she was determined to go on this little scavenger hunt L set up for her. Their school bus finally came, and the three of them jumped on and sat by each other on their way to school. Hazel noticed that all the girls on the bus had something from their admirers, their moms probably gave it to them, but they all looked so happy. But Hazel also thought that maybe someone had an actual secret admirer like her. Hazel was amazed that someone actually gave her something this valentine because usually no one receives anything at the orphanage.
The school bus had reached its destination and dropped the kids off at school. The school was decorated with all these hearts and filled with red and pink streamers. School was always decked out for holidays, but that didn’t side track Hazel from figuring out whom her admirer was.
Hazel went upstairs to her classroom cause third graders were on top, through the classroom window she saw a dozen roses on top of her desk with a card on it. Hazel was thrilled because she was one step closer to figuring out who this mystery guy was. Hazel walked to her desk, smelt the roses, and read the next clue.
"Hello, Hazel (: Here is your fourth present and second clue.
We see each other everyday, you were always an inspiration to me even when you
went to your new house. I miss you dearly and I think you miss me too. I will meet you at the roller skating park after school on the bench. Oh yeah! Your teacher has goody bags for you to pass out to the class. Love, Lu"
"Love, Lu?" Who could that be? Hazel thought of all the possibilities but none of
them worked. She thought maybe it was someone from her real family, but that wouldn’t be probable she thought. No one ever remembered her, that’s why she didn’t really think of her family that much. Although her older brother, Luke, who was in college always wrote her letters and kept in touch with her because they were close when they were growing up. Luke was the only one that kept in touch with her after she left to the orphanage because her mother wasn’t giving her the care she needed, and her dad left the family. Despite that, Hazel didn’t think he would fly from college to leave her a scavenger hunt for Valentines.
Throughout the whole day at school she was trying to put the pieces together and figure out who would leave her all these presents and leave a note telling her that they were going to meet at the roller-skate park. The roller skate park is where everyone in her grade after school hangs out. With that she thought it had to be someone from school to know that everyone in the grade goes there. Hazel was antsy for school to finish because she was always a detective that got to the end of the case without any time being wasted.
"Its 2:15, SCHOOL ENDED! " Hazel screamed. She was the first to run down the stairs and burst through the doors and reach the skate park. Here at the skate park Hazel started to lace up her roller skates, to skate for a couple minutes before the rush of kids came. Hazel was skating around and then noticed that there was a new guy who appeared. "She described him as a tall attractive gentleman about 20 years of age."(p 68) With Hazel being the curious detective she is, she walked on over to the bench the old man was sitting at. Hazel didn’t have to say a word to ask whom he was and if he was her secret admirer. The old man was wearing a shirt saying," Happy Valentines Sis!" with a Polaroid camera on his side. Hazel's case was closed.
Her brother Luke came down from college to set up a scavenger hunt and wish her a Happy Valentines. Hazel and Luke took a picture and he gave it for her to keep. This moment was her happiest yet. Hazel thought her family forgot about her, she didn’t think that her older brother still cared and loved for her dearly. Now she knew what L and Lu stood for. It was the beginning of Luke.
Analysis
This story, "The Valentines Day Mystery" could have been one of the unfinished stories written by Phoebe in the book because Hazel Weatherfield is always solving detective mysteries. But didn’t specify if Hazel was instigating on someone else's case or one of her own.
In "The Valentines Day Mystery" Hazel is the kind of girl that Phoebe always wanted to be or dreamt to be because in real life Phoebe is kind of a loner like her older brother, Holden. Phoebe and Holden, Hazel and Luke both had a family incident that impacted their lives. For the Caulfield's they lost a brother, which hit Holden and Phoebe pretty hard. So both Phoebe and Holden became closer to one another when growing up. As for Hazel and Luke their incident was that Hazel was put into the orphanage while Luke stayed at home. Luke and Hazel were very close siblings and Hazel looked up to her brother. See, they both share an older brother, younger sister bond.
In these unfinished stories by Phoebe the main character, Hazel, could be representing how Phoebe really wanted to be. Phoebe lives through her writings. This relates because Phoebe is glad when Holden comes back to visits her and asks him if she got the letter she once sent him because she still wanted to keep in touch. Holden cared about Phoebe because he always thought about her and when he went in to New York City, he searched through record stores to find Phoebe the "Little Shirley Beans" record. In Hazel's life especially on Valentines Day it ran across her mind that this "secret admirer" could be her real older brother because she missed him and still wanted him in her life. Luke is also known as the older man and he always appears; the older man is her brother who set up the whole scavenger hunt because he wanted his sister to feel special. Hazel's older brother, Luke is like Holden for Phoebe.
In the book Catcher in the Rye, Holden says that Phoebe goes to the roller skating park on Sundays quite frequently (p115). In "The Valentines Day Mystery" Hazel appears to be at the roller skating park everyday after school. Phoebe and Hazel both share a common hang out spot.
This fits in to the time period because back then people would go in to each others houses without them knowing, everything was more care free and trusting. That’s how the brownies appeared to get in to Hazel's room, but of course with the help of her orphanage parents. Also then and now there was always a close brother, sister relationship and one always looked up to the other one. In Catcher, it's more like Holden looks up to Phoebe but in "The Valentines Day Mystery" Hazel looks up to Luke. This story also shows how people, family members will always care for you and surprise you even if you hardly communicate because of distance or incidents.

Boy What Happened
Boy, What Happened
If you really want to hear about it, I'll tell you my story of meeting a new guy. During the holiday season my family and I went to the holiday party at a country club. There I met a guy named Troy, he didn’t strike me with his looks first but we started to talk. By the end of the party we exchanged numbers and Troy and I knew a great amount of things about each other such as I was taken and he was single, but also a lot more. After the party ended I figured he would just be some guy that I met and we knew each other's numbers, but that wasn’t the case. By us exchanging numbers, that was what killed me because we started to talk a lot and got to know each other better, leading us to be close friends.
It was the nearing the end of winter break and we kept talking to one another and decided to go on outings. I didn’t think anything of us being close would change things because I have always been super close to boys. But as February began, I started to develop a feeling for Troy. But at the same time I was going out with Coty. I knew this wouldn’t be fair to anyone because I would have to break one of their hearts. The heart I broke was Coty's and a couple weeks later Troy asked me out. Of course I said yes.
As you know Troy and I were best friends before we started dating, so there wasn’t any weird awkwardness in the beginning of our relationship because we knew each other and were comfortable. When I was dating Troy to me I was the happiest I have ever been with a guy for a while, it was cute. We spent a lot of time with one another more because we were together but then after a couple months I started to like my ex again and I didn’t know what to do. I was confused. The last thing I wanted to do was screw up another relationship. But me being me, a heartbreaker, I ended it.
One night I decided that I had to speak to Troy at the park, because it was close to our houses.
"Hey, Troy I have to speak to you."
"Oh all right," he said in a sort of unsure voice.
"Uhmm, I don’t think we should … go out anymore"
"Why… huh? Do you like another guy? "
That was the first time I was afraid of a guy when breaking up. The sad part was not only did I break Troy's heart but also our friendship. You would think I would be single for a while because of all this commotion, though that wasn’t the case fore me. Coty and I started to go back out.
Even though I wasn’t with Troy I just wanted to speak to him and get things to how we used to be, best friends where we tell each other everything. Because of what I did and how I dated Coty about a week after Troy and I broke up, I knew Troy didn’t want to speak to me ever again. I knew that we wouldn’t talk for a while, but I didn’t expect it to be any longer than two months. But what do I know; it was till the middle of summer. I didn’t expect any of this.
As the months passed by it was now Summer, I realized that I wanted to speak to Troy badly and figure out what the deelio was. I figured out what to do. I sent Troy a text message asking him how life was, hoping that he would reply.
He replied, "Why did you have to break up with me and then go back out with Coty? It was unexpected." Although I really didn’t know why I ended it, but I told him I was lost and didn’t know what to do. It took a while for him to trust me and also for him and I to be tight friends. But now I know never go out with a best guy friend, it doesn’t do anything good in the long run. But, hey lucky me we're best friends again!
